Description:
HUSEL Hockey Club is hosting tryouts for its U10/U12/U14 (Fall and Winter teams), and U16/U19 (Winter teams) along with selections for the USA Field Hockey Festival in Tampa over Thanksgiving. Our U14 is ranked #13 in the country and our U19 is ranked #34 along with 6 USA Field Hockey Indoor Pool Championships and our players have earned college commitments to play at Harvard, Dartmouth, Hofstra, and Longwood along with several others.
Age Criteria:
Your age for the entire calendar year of 2023 is determined by how old you are on or before December 31, 2022. The U16 and U19 age group only is based on winter. For U10/U12/U14, please note your fall.
U10: Fall 2012 or later, Winter: 2013 or later
U12 Fall 2010-2011, U12 Winter: 2011-2012
U14: Fall 2008-2009, U14 Winter: 2009-2010
U16 Winter: 2007-2008
U19 Winter: 2004, 2005, 2006
Location: GMU Field House, 4501 University Dr, Fairfax, VA 22030 (always type in GMU Field House in directions or else it will take you elsewhere)

U10/U12: 10am-11:30am
U14: 11:30am-1pm
U16: 1pm-3pm
U19: 3pm-5pm
Practice/Tournaments:
Fall: U10/U12/U14 play in the fall. We are expecting Tuesday and Thursday evenings U10: 7-8:30, U12/U14 7-8:45pm at GMU Turf #3 in Fairfax Sept 6th thru October 27th and we are signed up for Greater Howard County Club Conference Tournament. There are two games each Saturday (September 10, 17, 24 and October 1). There will be an end of season tournament for teams that qualify on October 15. All games will be played on turf fields at Blandair Regional Park.
There is also a USA Field Hockey National Hockey Festival tournament, which is SELECTION-ONLY for U14 and U19 over Thanksgiving in Tampa, FL. I am collecting everyone's ability to play over Thanksgiving so we can make an informed decision for this tournament.
Winter: U10/U12/U14/U16/U19. Expect practice 2x/week with 3 travel tournaments. NITQ and NIT are selection-only. Details to be distributed when closer.
For selected players, we will have a parent meeting and a recruiting meeting.
